Why
do women have implants?
It’s very common for women to feel unhappy with their breast size
or shape and therefore breast augmentations are most commonly performed
for the following reasons:
- Women who were
born with small breasts due to their genetic make-up feel that their
breast size is too small.
- Woman who develop
atrophy which causes a reduction in breast size after pregnancy due
to child birth and/or breast feeding.
- Woman who already
have an average to large size breast, but desire very large breasts.
- Woman who need
to balance their breasts due to a difference in size.
- As a result
of weight loss or ageing
Process
All
consultations are completely free of charge and without obligation.
First step
Initially you can speak to one of our specially trained patient care co-ordinator’s
who will be happy to offer you further information in preparation for
your consultation with the surgeon. Please note our patient care co-ordinators
cannot advise you on clinical matters as they are not clinically trained.
Their role is to offer you guidance, support and information regarding
the surgeon’s consultation, our services and facilities. Our patient
co-ordinators have had years of experience in the cosmetic surgery industry
and some have had procedures themselves, therefore they are familiar with
the process and will be able to answer most of your questions with confidence.
However, it is only the surgeon that can confirm suitability for surgery
and give clinical advice.
Consultation
With The Surgeon
Our consultant will evaluate your personal requirements,
discuss any concerns you may have and confirm suitability for surgery.
He will inform you on a step by step basis about the procedure. His advice
is based on his many years of surgical experience. Following consultation
and once you have made your decision to proceed with surgery a suitable
date will be allocated. Approximately 2 weeks prior to surgery you will
meet our nurse to have your pre-operative screen appointment. Before your
surgery you will also meet our consultant anesthetist who will discuss
the anesthetic with you. You will then proceed to surgery and thereafter
be taken care of by our clinical staff. We will provide you with all the
required pre + post operative advice and care.
